Tom, WHS Class of ’39. Tom is another avid member of the group of Western alumni who meet at Bob Evans Restaurant in Dearborn on the second Thursday of each month. Following graduation from Western, Tom served as a flight engineer on Guam during World War II. Tom flew 34 missions on a B-29. Years later, during the 1960s, Tom flew his own Cherokee 180 plane.
Western High School has a long history in Detroit, and several of Tom’s family members attended the school in the late 1800s and early 1900s. And the school is still going strong!
